It's hilarious (in a sad way): This week's issue of Venom FINALLY establishes more DECENT and clear dynamic of hows this book (was going) to play out - ie. Venom overcoming Lee's crappy evil 'tude to save the days. Interesting potential there. And Marvel wipes all that out with this (oddly allowed) EXTREME SPOILER solicit basically telling readers to never mind about investing in this incarnation/volume. Also funny (as sad sidenote): The (cleverly titled) Letters Page does Clone Conspiracy a solid by promoting it this week but then it completely ignores Miles' Spider-man issue also out. And BTW, is that Felicia's right hand lackey drawn and set up living next door to the mark as insurance?

Also this week's ish has a simple preview page from VENOM #150:

This was, SURPRISINGLY, very good. The art really suits this story, for the most part, and the conscience form of Venom is quirky comicstrip fun - but c'mon! That Youtubers left hand on that last page is freakishly drawn disproportionately ugly. Just sayin'.

Neat opening faraway cameo of Spidey (especially given the #150 cover spoiler) and canon context of the ex-Baxter Building. Very inspired sideplot storyseed with FBI avenue to find out Spidey's secrets through Venom. Black Cat's mission scheme against the Ben Urich Wannabe was elegantly an simple story pitch that does well to present motivations of all parties involved. It was also very entertaining to see Gargan FINALLY suit up and battle Venom as the revamped Scorpion (first time since SW, right?).
