Countess Karkov sends Peter and Teresa Chamelion's co-ordinates and they raid his headquarters, Teresa shoots Chamelion and wounds him, Chamelion takes on the form of the agent that he killed to taunt a still emotional Teresa and she beats him up. Teresa demands he bring them to the Hitman...he does, but the Hitman is dead, Chamelion reveals that Hitman was dead before and was recently brought back (by Ben Reily during Clone Conspiracy) , Hitman devised a way of uploading his mind to a cloud and then put into a fresh body.

is incensed Dimitri again toyed with her and Peter and threatens to shoot him, but Peter talks her out of it. He knows how she feels and recalls how the Chamelion built life model decoys of their parents to toy with him years ago. Teresa notes that Peter's back is glowing, but it's actually the clairvoyant device, which was supercharged by the temporal explosion caused by Miguel last issue. Peter tries it out, looking for a possibility that could save his city from the vengeful Doom, he is tossed into a stream of possible futures which include the Next Avengers, the MC2 Universe, the future Spider-Man from the "Happy Birthday" arc and more. Peter meets Miguel's A.I Lyla and gets the help he needs, but they'll need the Chamelion to make it work.

On a rooftop, Peter and Teresa seemingly offer Doom the Hitman, but he sees through the ruse, Hitman is Chamelion! Doom fires on the three of them and they're engulfed in a blast of light. To be continued

My thoughts:

Artwork's a little fudgy but I did appreciate this issue for it's focus on brother/sister bonding, the connective tissue to two very disliked storylines in Clone Conspiracy and Lifetheft, one recent and one twenty four years old, helped add additional layers to a much more interesting plot, proving that things needn't be ignored if they can be used in this fashion. I don't like being told to pick up the Omega issue of 2099 to have further clarity on the main arc, so I hope Spencer sticks the landing on the final part of this and does so in a way that can be enjoyed without having to fork out money for something extra.
