Without a doubt, my favorite artist is John Romita, Sr. He was the first artist I became aware of, even though I started collecting well after his heyday.
As I've gotten older, I learned to appreciate Steve Ditko's work so much more. I liked it, since it's classic Spidey, in the Spider-Man paperback collections of the late 70s and the Marvel Tales reprints of the 80s, but in the years since, I really think he drew one of the best Spider-Man in actions ever.

While John Buscema didn't like drawing super hero stories, he sure was great at it. His brother Sal left his mark on so many characters from my impressionable era that I'd have to mention him.

I loved Tom Lyle in the 90's. John Byrne was fantastic, especially in the 70s. I loved his Marvel Team-Up. Ross Andru helped shape the Spidey universe as much as anyone outside of Ditko and Romita.

George Perez is one of my favorite comic artists, but I generally don't think of him in regards to Spidey.
