Was this one of the alternate Spider-Men from the end of the series, and made his identity public in his dimension?

What happened was that Peter was taken to meet alternate versions of himself and lead them against Spider Carnage

One of them wore a suit of spider armor that premiered in web of spider man vol 1 100
https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Web_of_Spider-Man_Vol_1_100

That particular Parker didn't have the classic "parker luck" that would jynx him like it does with our Peter. So he basically never lost, built his company and tech and was going to marry Gwen Stacy and had long since revealed to the public that he was Spider-man.

To thwart Spider-carnage, our Peter went to grab spider-armor spidey's Uncle Ben who was still alive and use him to help get Spider-Carnage to stop.

At the end our Peter and Madame Web were seen traveling the multiverse to the alternate Earth that Peter's Mary Jane landed on after she was knocked off the bridge by Green Goblin and fell through a dimensional portal that had been opened by the Goblin. Peter had thought MJ was swept out to sea and lost by the currents (which is what would have happened to Gwen in the comic had Peter not caught her with his webs) and Madame Web told Peter it was another life lesson for him to learn at the time. Peter told her where to go basically and she left him until it was time for Peter to save the multiverse.

The series ended or perhaps one should say STOPPED at the point of Peter and Madame Web going to get Mary Jane. As I recall there was going to be more but I think studio politics helped end the series, sadly.

Spider-Man Unlimited which ran for one season could be called the sequel series in that the same voice actress did return to reprise Mary Jane again for the premier episode and we did briefly hear the theme song from the previous series when Peter first suited up to face Venom and Carnage. Only ran for a season, dismal ratings, it was meant to be Marvel's Batman Beyond but couldn't compete with Batman Beyond and Pokemon as I recall. Also despite the costume he used having that ridiculous cape it was loaded with nice tech.
