Spider-Man Unlimited which ran for one season could be called the sequel series in that the same voice actress did return to reprise Mary Jane again for the premier episode and we did briefly hear the theme song from the previous series when Peter first suited up to face Venom and Carnage. Only ran for a season, dismal ratings, it was meant to be Marvel's Batman Beyond but couldn't compete with Batman Beyond and Pokemon as I recall. Also despite the costume he used having that ridiculous cape it was loaded with nice tech.

Mary Jane was not voiced by the same person. Sara Ballantine was the voice of Mary Jane on TAS. Jennifer Hale, who voiced Black Cat on TAS, voiced Mary Jane in Spider-Man Unlimited.

You are right, could have sworn it was the same actress.
