Quote:Wouldn't that make Kara look bad though? She meets a female villain and gets her butt handed to her so the men in her life bail her out and beat up the bad guy? She hasn't really gone anywhere in her heroic journey if the men do all the work for her while she's recuperating.
Quote:How many times did Kara bail Mon El and Jonn out nobody seemed to bat an eyelid when she saved them. It seems as though Reign is just flat out more powerful than Kara. I don't see how having help to survive a violent encounter with somebody blatantly stronger than you is a bad thing.
It's her show though. I mean she really needs to beat this lady herself.
Quote:Also if Superman did fly in to help, we know that apparently Supergirl beat him in a fair fight, he admitted so in Season 2. Supergirl is more powerful than Mon El, and Jonn has not really shown himself to be in her league really so far unless I'm missing something.
Quote:So the fact all three of her closest allies, who happen to be men yes, did sod all to help her looks really bad.
I don't think J'Onn would have been much help frankly and could have made thinks worse if Reign had taken him hostage or injured him. The others we can just make excuses for why they weren't there
Quote:Given this situation where she's fighting another woman I think Kara should man woman up and beat this villain herself. I mean let's be honest this show force feeds us this female empowerment angle all the time. Kara needs to win this battle herself if they're going to justify that angle.
Quote:And this seems to be precisely why they threw Clark, Mon El and Jonn under the bus at the expense of female empowerment. Sadly, the way it went down, just made the three of them look bad, maybe its just me though but when you see a friend in trouble and you have the capability to help them, you help! Reign would have probably handled Jonn and Mon El as well. She seemed that powerful.
Quote:I appreciate in the end yes Kara should be the one to beat her in a fair fight absolutely, but in episode 9, not one of her closest allies came to her aid ... Shod writing, or, Kara needs better allies.
This is why I can't ever enjoy Clark or Kara and resisted the idea they were joining the Arrowverse shows. Not only can they can do almost anything there is also this unreasonable expectation that they do so. If something awful happens somewhere somehow Clark is to blame for not dropping what he is doing to go fix the problem on someone else's show. So he was busy.
This is really a problem Kara is going to need to fix more or less by herself unless Reign recruits an army.
The BIG problem on this show is that needed to accept that Superman is the top superhero, period, and most powerful, and that Kara is really close to him, be be like adult male compared to adult female!
You can make Kara look good, but should not at expense making kal look wimpy!
