I was looking at a picture of a Silver Age Lex Luthor action figure, from a line that often uses things from the real stories (like Brainiac's monkey), and I was wondering if anyone could tell me about Luthor's headwear of the box he is holding?

THE DEVICE HELD in Luthor's hand is his super-ray projector, seen in "The Reporter of Steel", from Action Comics # 257 (Oct., 1959). It cast a ray which imbued ordinary people with Supeman-like super-powers.

The device on the Luthor figure's head is his time-space thought scanner, seen in "The Team of Luthor and Brainiac", from Superman # 167 (Feb., 1964). It enabled Luthor to scan minds in any part of the universe and in any period of time.

Hope this helps.
