Say what you will about this series, it is FAR from perfect, but this season has been very consistent about a theme of Friendship.

Season 2 was all about Love, but this one is Friendship.

I HATE this season.

This forced fake friendship everyone has with Reign/Samantha is just ridiculous. I feel like these are friendships that have occurred off camera. Kara or someone said Sam was family in the recent episode. Since when?

And to me it looks like they are positioning Alex to be Ruby's new mom once they get rid of Samantha. Usually I'm ok with Alex's adventures into lesbianism but does she have to whine to a teenage girl she barely knows her whole relationship history with Maggie? Don't burden a teenager with your drama. If Ruby was her sister or niece or something I could half way understand venting but she barely knows this kid.

In Fort Rozz, Supergirl takes a chance on taking two of her old villains with her to Fort Rozz where she won't have powers. Seems really dumb, but in the context of the show it worked because it's all about friendship. Heck, Livewire even finds common ground with Supergirl but then dies \:\(

Then in "For Good," Lena almost goes down a dark path, but her friendship with Kara makes her take a better path. Samantha goes to her friends for support and Kara, Alex, and Lena have her back (at least until they find out in some future ep that she is Reign!)

And Kara and Mon-El are no longer lovers, but they are slowly becoming friends again.
