Subj: Doug Moench (Runequest) and Tom DeFalco (War of the Gods) are considered "Masters".

Much appreciate the listing of the REAL Thor written by the MASTERS!!!!!!!!!

MASTERS!!!! ?????

C'mon man. The Stan and Jack stuff is obviously sacred but Runequest? There was a reason Walt was brought on and given carte blanche after that god awful run. Namely that it was god awful.

Then the DeFalco crap. Mediocre during its best moments but mostly forgettable.

I did enjoy Worldengine but I wouldn't even call that a Masterwork by any stretch. Warren-Ellis has done better.

Don't let the abysmal depths we find ourselves in now shift your perspective on previous works that were nothing special.

Whether you like their Thor stories or not, they have earned "master" status and fan respect from the totality of their body of work in comics.

Personally, I hated World Engine, but I do not judge Warren Ellis by his Thor run alone.

Frank Miller, despite his more recent runs, is one of the best comic book writers in the modern era because of his phenomenal Daredevil run , Elektra , Year One and Dark Knight Returns.
