Hey Adey, I just read it. For me, Cates is like a breath of fresh air, not just on Thor but most of what he's done since writing for Marvel. Some of his ideas seem obvious in retrospect, but you can't deny it's full of surprises and keeps you turning the page. I kind of feel there are parallels with his arrival on the book and Oeming's. Both are dense, compacted runs that arrived after long, slow runs. So yes, while it did feel the story was wrapped too quickly, I like:

1. The compacted pace - the antidote to years of decompression.

2. No politics.

3. No politics.

4. The scale, scope and grandeur.

5, The sensationalism. This is Cate's strongest suite imo; his ability to keep dropping great ideas. After so many years, where everything has been rinse-repeated for many decades, that's quite something.

So I'm with you - let's enjoy the ride. Hopefully Donny can start digging a little deeper with characterisation and in building a more multifaceted arc now the broom had swept clean Aaron's death of a thousand cuts character destruction.
