Quote:....... if we as Thor fans can’t support our boy when he’s shown in a very positive light then, what’s the point?
Quote:Might as well close the door and turn off the lights on the way out.
Quote:Hey Adey, I just read it. For me, Cates is like a breath of fresh air, not just on Thor but most of what he's done since writing for Marvel. Some of his ideas seem obvious in retrospect, but you can't deny it's full of surprises and keeps you turning the page. I kind of feel there are parallels with his arrival on the book and Oeming's. Both are dense, compacted runs that arrived after long, slow runs. So yes, while it did feel the story was wrapped too quickly, I like:
Quote:1. The compacted pace - the antidote to years of decompression.
Quote:2. No politics.
Quote:3. No politics.
Quote:4. The scale, scope and grandeur.
Quote:5, The sensationalism. This is Cate's strongest suite imo; his ability to keep dropping great ideas. After so many years, where everything has been rinse-repeated for many decades, that's quite something.
Quote:So I'm with you - let's enjoy the ride. Hopefully Donny can start digging a little deeper with characterisation and in building a more multifaceted arc now the broom had swept clean Aaron's death of a thousand cuts character destruction.
Yes, it’s a breath of fresh air for some, but not others. The next arc will be really interesting Prey/Donald Blake/horror.
I believe Cates will delve deep into Thor as a character and not just have it like the first arc. His Venom run and how he’s changed Eddie Brock ias a character is proof of that.
That’s interesting how you brought up Oemings run, it is a similar parallel.
I agree with what you said. It’s good to have a change of pace. I’m just enjoying it for what it is at the moment.
