....... if we as Thor fans can’t support our boy when he’s shown in a very positive light then, what’s the point?
Might as well close the door and turn off the lights on the way out.
I think Cates is doing a fantastic job! I remember when the board was angry that Odin was viewed as a step below Galactus. Well, Thor is essentially a young Odin now and has re-established himself in the food chain in this regard.
Personally, I've never liked the idea of hierarchical power levels for characters. As long as it is not ridiculous, it is much more realistic and interesting to mix up the outcomes. Could Cosmic Thor who is Odin level+ surprise Galactus with an energy absorption trick or other ability and take out Galactus? Yes! Could Galactus see thru this the next time and win? Yes! Peers should always have the ability to win or lose to one another.
I wish they did this more between Normal Thor, Hulk and Sentry, etc. If Thor blasts Hulk with full lightning or a godblast and then cracks him with Mjolnir on the jaw he wins. If Hulk pins Thor down and starts gorilla blasting endless shots on him, then Hulk wins. Should Captain America take out Hulk? Never. Should Galactus be able to defeat a Celestial? Sometimes yes, and sometimes no....because they are peers; even if one will more than likely have the advantage.
