For me, I really hate the depiction of Thor without his helmet. I curse the day Marvel made a Thor movie due to knowing ahead of time that to show the actor, they would eliminate the helmet....and that pending the success of the movie, it would filter into the comic. I hate it.

Actually the reason Thor doesn't wear the helmet outside of the coronation scene is not because it hid Hemsworth's face, but because it was apparently impossible to do action scenes with. The helmet designed for the film simply wouldn't cooperate. It was moving all over the place, fell off, and smashed Hemsworth in the nose multiple times. They decided to just forgo the helmet after multiple incidents. Unfortunately, that kind of stuck around. Thor was supposedly going to get a new, more permanent helmet for Thor: The Dark World, but director Alan Taylor came on and wasn't a fan of the idea of Thor wearing a helmet so that was the end of that. The designs of the Dark World helmet can still be found online as part of promotional material that was made before Taylor came on.

Also I seem to recall some statements when making Indian JOnes and the Last Crusade that in some action scenes, his hat had trouble staying on his head and they had to modify it somehow
