That's cool. I don't think there should be a reason why Norrin can't do that anyway.

Way back in teh Silver Surfer series of the 90's when they finally realized the easy secret to him escaping Galactus' barrier, Surfer transformed the board into energy so it could join him outside the barrier where he reformed it into his board.

Also back in the 90's Guardians of the Galaxy, Galactus shattered Surfer's board, but soemtime later as the Keeper, he defeats Galactus becomes his partner and reforms his board again.
