Quote:Portman doesn't have the pull/draw that blockbuster movies demand. Her thing is more the Black Swan type movie that she did.
I hope she doesn't. But even so, sometimes things just click with the public despite everything being against them. Transformers, Twilight, Hunger Games... No great actors, no great directors, no script worth anything, and yet three very successful franchises. The cinema going public can be an unpredictable lot.
Quote:So, I think it's safe to say that Hemsworth has nothing to worry about with contract extensions/renegotiations
Wasn't it Hemsworth who nearly caused a walkout of actors after the first Avengers movie with his complaints over the disparity in pay between actors of his level and actors of Downey Jr's?
There may still be bad blood there. Perhaps that's why Hemsworth has been effectively relegated to the level of co-star in two successive Thor films, and overweight comic relief in a third film? If Marvel are trying to ease him out of the role, they're making quite a good job of it.
Hemsworth's issue was that he made 5mil for Snow White and the Huntsman and Marvel was going to try to pay him his previous rate for Thor and Avengers.
I wouldn't have taken a pay cut either, but this was the beginning of his diva-dom and why he didn't wear the wig for most of Ragna-Suck and also why Thor was turned into a comedic joke a la Hercules.
This on top of the fact that Watiti wanted to turn the Thor fanchise into Flash Gordon meets Big Trouble in Little China. And now he's going to turn Thor 4 into a rom-com because he has a wild hair up his ass to do a romance movie because he's never done one.
