Am I the only one or the writers just have nothing else to write about?
I know this a new story by a new writer, but isn't it too soon to focus on Thor being worthless again?? I hope the rumors are right. It's been swirling around that after this arc is over, Mjolnir will be Thor's only. If it's true, then I would say...FINALLY.

From the beginning, when Odin put the worthy enchantment on it, it made him (and the writer and writers) look like the dumbness god in the Universe by leaving an open-end loophole on one of Asgard's most powerful weapon. It's like the USA saying to Russia "how many fingers do I have behind my back? 2? Correct! You can have one of our Thermo-Nuclear missiles!"

I know it's a comic book, but really? It's ok to have common sense. Even in a comic book. The main excuse from the writers would be "If we did that, it wouldn't be interesting." If you're a good writer, you can write any story and give it a good spin.

That's probably my number one pet peeve since Walt Simonson had the inscription broken down word for word. When Thor and BRB had their fight, Odin said that the old enchantment had to be fixed. I thought good ol' Walt was going to make sure to change the enchantment and made sure Mjolnir stays Thor's possession from there on. But what did Odin do? All he did was give the BRB the enchantment to change to his old self before his people made him BRB.

In the beginning Stan wanted a hook to make Thor relatable with a side i.e. Blake who has a handicap. That was common in comics dating back to the start of comics. Part of the problem with Thor was that without that he was simply too powerful on a full time basis. In Marvel that was really a large part of the formula. The problem was it became a tiresome and unneeded devise. I was very happy when Walt rid Thor of it. I was not a fan of the Jake Olson\Thor under Dan Jurgens run. I actually only read vol.2 well after it was finished and suspect it would have been annoying on a monthly basis. I did enjoy most of his run especially before the future Asgard stuff. It would be great to see him finish the arc the way he intended. I was o.k. when JMS brought Blake back but not a huge fan of the idea. I was fine when he was written out again but knew it wouldn't be permanent.
I am waiting to see how the mjolnir stuff works out but definitely sick of anything remotely close to that line. Thor has already covered new ground in this run. I am happy with Cates run so far. I suspect one of the reasons Marvel keeps going back to the multiple wielders and hammers is because it causes reactions and publicity-both good and bad- which means sales. At least that is the theory. That probably means we will continue to see some form of it for a long time. Hopefully not with the real mjolnir which would at least be an improvement.
