In the beginning Stan wanted a hook to make Thor relatable with a side i.e. Blake who has a handicap. That was common in comics dating back to the start of comics. Part of the problem with Thor was that without that he was simply too powerful on a full time basis. In Marvel that was really a large part of the formula. The problem was it became a tiresome and unneeded devise. I was very happy when Walt rid Thor of it. I was not a fan of the Jake Olson\Thor under Dan Jurgens run. I actually only read vol.2 well after it was finished and suspect it would have been annoying on a monthly basis. I did enjoy most of his run especially before the future Asgard stuff. It would be great to see him finish the arc the way he intended. I was o.k. when JMS brought Blake back but not a huge fan of the idea. I was fine when he was written out again but knew it wouldn't be permanent.
I am waiting to see how the mjolnir stuff works out but definitely sick of anything remotely close to that line. Thor has already covered new ground in this run. I am happy with Cates run so far. I suspect one of the reasons Marvel keeps going back to the multiple wielders and hammers is because it causes reactions and publicity-both good and bad- which means sales. At least that is the theory. That probably means we will continue to see some form of it for a long time. Hopefully not with the real mjolnir which would at least be an improvement.

I suspect that the worthiness enchantment that ODIN placed upon it is malfunctioning.

The hammer was destroyed yet again in the sun and THOR eventually reassembled it, but what if he missed a piece?

The hammer has been damaged and destroyed in the past and reassembled with no problems of side effects, such was when THOR shattered it blasting into the Celestial's brain vault only for them to put it back together for him.

When the Destroyer first appeared it damaged the hammer also.

When THOR ended the Ragnarok cycle wasn't the hammer briefly destroyed and then reassembled also?

I never objected to Steve Rogers being worthy, he makes sense. But otherwise, no one else exept for THOR, BRB and Rogers. Also Dargo from the future.

Hmmmmm, perhaps a storyline where Dargo comes to the past and meets THOR , perhaps aiding him with his hammer problems?
