Well Spencer was an idiot for thinking he could strike a bargain with Neegan. Now if SPencer had told Negan that he had brought some supplies back for the Saviors before he was gutted then Negan may have seen things a bit differently.

Or perhaps not. Spencer was basically being a traitorous weasel.

Olivia dying, well no offense to the actress but that character is not a great loss.

Negan knowing about Judith....well, he could threaten Rick with statements like "be a shame if your daughter ended up hurt somehow", however Negan strikes me as someone that doesn't enjoy killing children.

After all, he COULD have killed Carl many times over but he didn't. Possibly because he realizes that while Rick may crumble with grief that Rick will bounce back with the rage of a parent that had to bury their kid. Negan did see the video interview of Rick when he joined Aleandria and he was impressed and commented that was a Rick he didn't want to have to face.

Also his comment to Carl when Carl emerged from the truck about how Carl actually scared him......I don't think that was hyperbole, I think Negan literally was scared for a few minutes.

However Carl has now seen some of Negan's base, Daryl has seen some of Negan's base so both can provide intel to Rick and the others as they form a strike plan. Also Michonne has seen a glimpse of the base and how many Saviors there are.

The rest of the season should be interesting. However even if all three kingdoms unite against the Saviors, the Saviors have the numbers and they have the guns. Guerilla warfare will be their best and perhaps only way to fight them. They will have to set up traps on the roads, in the woods and do a lot of hit and run attacks and perhaps another "night of the long knives" like when they hit the outpost.

Have you read the comics? Rick comes up with a pretty genius strategy against Negan. I love comic-book Rick. TV-show Rick on the other hand, verges too often on parody. Even in his most tender moments, he can't get that gravel out of his voice box.

Neither of the deaths in this episode felt like losses (and I even liked Olivia). I felt worse when Rick was forced to watch them beating whats-his-name.

And a lean, silent figure slowly fades into the gathering darkness, aware at last that in this world, with great power there must also come -- great responsibility!
