Now that season 4 of FTWD is complete, just a couple thoughts.
First, the new cast is eons better than the original. Except for Charlie. I think they're trying for a female Carl with her. Heck, even the name is similar! John Dorie gets my vote for best new character.
Second, the writing stinks. The cast deserves far better writing. If this was real life, most or all of these characters would be walker chow within the first episode. So many of the decisions they make are counter intuitive to what someone would do in survival mode. Most of what takes place is predictable.
I'll keep watching simply because I do enjoy the revamped cast and I'll hope that the writing improves exponentially.

I like the addition of Mo Collins and Chill Mitchell. I hope they stick around for a while, although I know Mitchell is also on NCIS: New Orleans, so I don't know if he can do both. Garrett Dillahunt is good too. I think you're right about Charlie being new Carl. I think I groaned when she found Dorrie's hat and put it on.
Overall, I don't have many complaints. This season obviously made a lot of changes and ended with a new direction. I'm curious to see where it will go.
