I had trouble getting into FTWD and just gave up on it quite a while ago. Like season 2. I just found the initial family to just be unlikable as characters, except maybe the dad, but they were just not good.

I also thought that they rushed to fast to get to the Walking Dead. I mean how far gone things were. I was really hoping, and I know I should not hold it against the show, that the focus was going to be trying to survive initially. When the world was falling apart.

They did not focus on that much at all.

I agree 100%. I was really disappointed they didn't spend more time in that transition stage from normal civilization to zombie apocalypse. That was the entire conceit of the show!

If the story telling had focused on the family of a first responder, they could've gotten a lot more mileage out of that transition to the apocalypse...
