Wonder Woman 082

Cheetah has maybe the fastest 'cosmic reset' moments between issues courtesy of the 3 Dark Fates witches on the last cliffhanger page. Then for 20 pages she just rants and bullies and hacks at her captors with the Godkiller sword and Diana's Magic Lasso. Same as the immediately preceeding arc. Who knew torture and terror gets monotonous in the name of decompression.

Meanwhile the (barely) interesting element of the story is how Wonder Woman preps for the rematch. Sure, there's the obvious estrogen overdose with her guest star choices but the character cameo was a good variety. However, talk about your quick fixes... Etta gives the motivating pep talk. Nora Nunes gets an introduction to... uhh, to offer new neighbor hospitality, Jayna delivers WW backup paraphenelia from Hall of Justice, Nubia delivers Themyscira intel, Natasha "Steel" Irons rebuilds The Invisible Jet, and best of all Diana interacts with Peng Deilan, the Wonder Woman of China, to borrow her version of a magic lasso. And she's good to go.

It's all loosely tied in to Year of the Villain for Company Mandate purposes. The standard cliffhanger is (another) predictable face off between The Princess and The Pussycat. And it will most likely not finally end until the following issue since it's being reported:

DC Comics Cancels Wonder Woman #84!

Entertained by this chapter? Surprised by the news? Is placing 77th in sales last month https://www.comicboards.com/php/show.php?msg=indies-2019111023524852 comparitively that damning?

Wonder Woman is returning in January with a renumbering. In the beginning of next year, Wonder Woman will begin with #750.

It's interesting that a hero/villain performs one amazing feat, or use a power they haven't used for 20+ years, and that automatically propels them to a high status despite scans and evidence to the contrary. I don't know what is worse, selective feat picking that has only been done once or twice 20, or more, years ago or ignoring evidence from scans or the lack thereof. We need to stop putting our favorite heroes/villains on pedestals and start putting them where they really belong. But it's evident that people never will because they would rather accuse others of cherry picking feats, when they don't, and being 'morally superior' when they aren't. I guess being honest and as fair as possible only opens one up to being the target of childish accusations and fault finding by those who insist on acting petty and childish. What happened to a good debate between two civil, mature, adults?
