Reply Subj: Comment on the NEW WW84 MOVIE trailer?

The 1st movie was a pleasant unexpected surprise.

I am much more worried about this new episode.

I started to worry when I heard that Maxwell Lord might be one of the villains and that the idea came from Geoff Johns.

Then, I noticed that, contrary to the other projects, nothing good leaked about WW84. Actually, there was not a lot of information available about the script, about Cheetah, about what the movie was about. Some say that it was about the end of Cold War but, at the same time, nothing suggested either that it could be a spy movie.

Then, it was recently confirmed that Pedro Pascal would portray Maxwell Lord. Contrary to Ares & Dr. Poison, I couldn't see how Cheetah & Maxwell Lord would fit together in the same movie. I really couldn't. If they wanted to include a wealthy character in the story, why not Priscilla Rich, Sebastian Ballesteros or Veronica Cale?

I just watched the trailer … and I am not relieved.

Then I found on internet some rumours about the test screenings. The news are bad: it is not a spy movie and the story sounds silly.

Apparently, Maxwell Lord would be the "Big Bad" and would grant people's wishes thanks to the Chaos Crystal. That's how Steve Trevor would be resurrected and how Dr. Minerva would become Cheetah.

The trailer tends to confirm the rumours and it is not a good sign… This is the kind of cheesy idea that might have worked with Shazam or even Green Lantern (maybe?) but, frankly, I don't understand why somebody in his/her right mind would think that's a good idea for Wonder Woman 2.

Also, apparently, Cheetah is reduced to the role of 2ndary antagonist instead of being the main archfoe.

If they had used Dr. Psycho or the Duke of Deception, they might have develop a good storyline about the same theme (truth & lies, reality & appearance).

If they had used Dr. Cyber, they could have made a good spy movie.

If they wanted to bring back Steve Trevor without resorting to such a plot, they could have used the Angle Man.

If they wanted to include a 2nd character that magically turns Dr. Minerva into Cheetah, why didn't they use Circe instead?

Seriously, what were they smoking?
