Quote:I haven't read it yet, but I agree with this guy: Jean Grey might just be able to beat off a sliver of Void, where others couldn't.
Jean, yes; Scott, no way, no matter who taught him what. Over the past several years, we've been beaten over the head with "Void is near godlike." Scott should be drooling in a corner.
Hmm... but maybe the box is one of the "Phoenix fragments."
Quote:There seems to be a lot of Fraction hostility around Uncanny. I've found this run pretty good. I don't like the yo-yo art from fine detail to bubble bodies and back every couple of issues.
I do wish Dodson were fulltime, but we can't always get what we want.
Quote:There are just too many X-men. It like Fraction doesn't want to be writing the X-men, but something else. He's pulled in some pretty nice under used characters from all over the place. I wish he wouldn't use the Young X-men so much. Perhaps he could do a little less with the Astonishing and X-Force crowd too. There are plenty of characters there now, so Fraction should concentrate on them.
Much of this is editor-driven. It was an editorial decision to focus (or not) on the characters this way. He really isn't using the New/Young X-Men that much (when he does, they are nothing but background filler, so I really don't understand the complaint; the other writers are using them much more and much better).
Quote:I think Fraction succeeds. He gives these characters character. He has some interesting villains. The stories make sense. Morrison and Whedon have produced the best X-men in recent years (for my money), but Fraction is not that far behind.
IMO, Fraction's X-Men are like mindless zombies with no personality. The stories don't make any sense at all and are riddled with plotholes, and the plots go absolutely nowhere (Colossus' story, the Sisterhood story, etc.). Fraction is the single worst X-Men writer there has ever been, even worse than Austen.
