Quote:Depowered on M-Day.
Which arguably doesn't affect the character at all, since his cover story was always that he had a zapper device in his sword anyway. All he has to do is buy one from any of dozens of techie types in the MU.
Apparently Billy Tucci's rejected pitch to take over the last Heroes for Hire series would have involved El Aguila as a villainous sort running illegal immigrants for cheap labor, something rather out of character for the later-day Zorro.
Quote:The Maha Yogi
Quote:He's not a mutant. He's a mutated human, and more recently, a magician. Back around 8000 BC, some aliens mutated a human, giving him powers. He also goes by the names Mad Merlin and Merlin Demonspawn. He last showed up in the Captain Marvel vol 5 series. He was trapped inside a bubble of magical energy when last seen.
More specifically, the aliens who altered him were the so-called "Caretakers" of Arcturus, from those old 1970s Morbius stories. Their involvement was revealed in a "Tales of the Vishanti" backup strip in the Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme series; prior to that, the Mad Merlin in all his guises had generally been accounted a mutant with some Bloodgem assistance.
Quote:Alpha the Ultimate Mutant
Quote:It's questionable whether he's a mutant or not. Magneto created him in a lab. He hasn't been seen since that issue of Quasar on the Stranger's planet.
Longshot and Shatterstar are somehow considered mutants despite being bioengineered; at a guess, Alpha is also a bioengineered being with the x-gene.
Quote:Hasn't been seen since Thunderbolts #55. After a quite long stay with them, he jumped through a portal, traveling with Humus Sapien, into deep, deep space. Might be cool to see him in a cosmic book.
What was his mutant power revealed to be, again?
