Oh, you probably meant the next issue with oddly duplicated/purposeless CURSE OF THE MUTANTS label from the opening arc of the title, eh? Just read it now...
(Vampire) X-Men #11
It was somewhat okay for an Xavier flashback, ignoring the 50s dating and arguably using this team title for a solo tale. That nice/odd Kitty variant cover could almost be a banner [even though only 2 outfits are readily recognizable].
Everybody had awkward placed birthday hats but we couldnt see Psylocke's - not that anyone X-man wouldve seen it either with that seductive birthday get up.
http://www.comicbookresources.com/prev_img.php?pid=8575&pg=5 Charles' wordballoon in pg3pnl4 made me LOL almost.
Guess we have to assume for all intents and purposes the X-men believe that Jubilee is Jubilee and not a vampire co-opting her shell since Xavier would mindsee the truth. To bad he didnt address her sitch more though - especially considering the vampire label on the cover and history lesson.
Xavier admitted in-story to being amateurish with his powers. Hmmm. Makes some sense though 'cuz his tracking skills and handling of Kraven Wannabe and Svetlana Widow was very poor. He had so many other options. For example, very surprised he let that guy get gutted.
Guess Max and Monocled Man are people that did somewhat grab my attention but ended up seeming more interesting than compelling though - so no big deal if theyre throwaway.
Now, Raizo Koda felt like a set up for a future appearance. He was somewhat intriguing in an MU of evil vampires. Sooo, Xavier has known vampires for a looong time... HMMM... gonna have to digest that one...
Speaking of digest, "A piece of cake" was a clever way to end the decent filler-esque tale. But the Lizard arc read better for me - but that was still only average ie. hardly worth celebrating. [Liked the #10 Spidey-Emma banter too - eg. the scientific curiousity made me LOL almost.]
Still missing my brother...
