I've read the preview of the first few pages of this issue online, so...
> SHADOWCAT and VISION
> • Dumb to include Lockheed on the cover.
We were originally getting a Kitty/Vision story by Bendis, and the cover was drawn when that was still happening. I don't think they ever announced what that story would have been about, but Lockhead might have been in that one. Or maybe it's just a cover.
> • Standard trope to 'get scared' by the 'Mirrormen' that resemble friends turned bad (heck it worked for Danger fine using Magneto image this week) but these guys were obviously skewed copies (were they even standard Mirrormen or arbitrary intro). All in all a silly excuse for the two to 'switch partners' in the fight.
Given that (at least from the preview pages) those things don't seem to be displaying any of the powers and abilities of the people they look like, nor any specific knowledge of their foes, Vision's plan to "switch opponents" move reads more like "He just does not want to fight those people. Or fake versions of them."
> • "Guess these are ultimately the 'platonic' loves of her, Pete Wisdom. Oh wait, he even gets bumped by the White Queen for a easy punchline - so much for their deductive reasoning."
Well, no, Kitty's real true love, Caliban, is nowhere to be seen. And wouldn't we all rather see Kitty punching Frost than see Pete Wisdom in any way, shape or form? Also, perhaps more importantly, Douglock is there! I think that may be the first time we've seen Douglock since 1999.
Douglock is greater than the sum of his parts: Truth Fact.
