Wolverine set about chopping bits off that guy who killed Mariko. He came back once a year with no other purpose than to chop off another of this guy's fingers. As time went by the guy's face got disfigured pretty badly...

I found this totally unacceptable as a side of wolverine's character. Sure he will kill and he may even have some history of torturing for info, but this was something else.

I hope this never comes back to the surface.

Seemed fair to me, and he did give Matsuo a chance. Matsuo was a cyborg at the end there. It's not like he was completely defenseless.

Wolverine did put him out of his misery, but he came back in the Psylocke mini not long ago (Hand resurrection). After a brief battle between the two heroes, Logan let her get the final kill shot. So, I don't think we'll be revisiting him for a long, long while.

I think what pre-Wolverine Logan did to Nuke's parents was far lower.
