Quote:I don't read the comic (love the old Joe Kelly Deadpool, though) but I just checked out a preview of this mega wedding issue. The cover says it's a Guinness record holder, and I remember reading something about it having the most characters ever on a comic book cover. But I noticed something else: Dang thing's $9.99!
I thought it was a joke at first. This has got to be the Guinness record holder for most expensive issue of a monthly comic. I don't know what I'd do if I was a regular reader of the book. It's the same price as a 6-issue Image volume one TPB. I can't imagine plopping that much down for a comic, no matter how thick it is. Least of all a wedding issue. And least LEAST of all a non-iconic, unheralded wedding like this (it's not exactly Lois and Clark, Peter and MJ, or the wedding of Bruce Wayne). Knowing Marvel, they'll throw in three issues worth of reprints or something to justify it, but I don't get it.
$10 is a bargain for 100 pages, considering one usually pays $4 for 20 pages.
No reprints, but backup stories from every past DP writer.
Hey, maybe so. (Though I thought it was like 80 pages.) Still gotta be the highest cover price for a monthly issue. And I guess I'd have to see what fans think to judge for sure, but it would have to be a pretty dang special issue-- not just very long-- to justify that price tag.
