Not sure why her Dazzler ruse would be affected at all.

Yeah, unless she figured she'd easily survive. We have seen her morph into a winged form capable of gliding before.

    Which would beg the question: Would/Should SHIELD tech dampen mysticism as a simple plot device.

SHIELD has a Magic Operations Division, led by Crimson, I believe.
And magical dampeners aren't really a new concept.
So, perhaps.
