Quick question:

I have noticed that Archangel - as originally drawn by Walt Simonson and portrayed in the late 80s - had fairly basic looking metal wings.

By 1991 - and particularly under Wilce Portacio's pencils - Warren's metal wings were far more complex, with several inner vertical feather structures.

Was this just a stylistic artistic change, or were Archangel's wings further modified in an issue I may have missed? Can't find a dared thing on the web!

Thanks for any help!

I think they're supposed to just look like metal wings, but artists have included the smaller structures in recent depictions too, making them like smaller metal wings
