Quote:Rogue was very much drawn like a teenager. It's just the bleached temples that throws you.
I've attached a picture of Rogue from her third appearance ever in any comic. The year: 1982. Good God, man, she looks 40!
Quote:But no, most characters don't seem to age past their mid-20s. The rest of that list were just introduced in their mid-20s. So, they stayed there. This is even sorta true for Cap and Iron Man, who should really be nearing 40 or so by now, but still appear like they're mid-20s.
Quote:Kitty has aged too, into her early-to-mid-20s.
Yes she has. I see your point - or what I think is your point. Marvel wants all of the X-Men to be in their early-to-mid 20s. Except Professor X. Him they mostly want dead. (Oh yeah - and Logan. Funny how the one who isn't in his early-to-mid 20s is the most popular.)
Quote:Teen heroes are the easiest thing in the world to have. Make up some new ones. And Marvel has done just that, more times than I can count. They have plenty of teen heroes to choose from. Trouble is, fandom mostly doesn't care, because nowadays most fans who actually buy comics (as opposed to watching movies or playing video games) aren't teens.
They might be the easiest, but they're also the dullest. This was even true back in the 70s and 80s.
