    She's always been considered the first X-Men. You age her, and you age the franchise considerably. I think that's why they've been aging her and reducing her age and everything.

No, Jean was not considered the first X-Man before the retcons that began with her origin story in Bizarre Adventures #27 (published in 1981 a few months after the death of Dark Phoenix in UXM #137). Originally Scott was the first X-Man (as revealed in X-Men vol. 1 #39) and Jean was the last of the original five do join, in X-Men vol. 1 #1 (here the other four were already X-Men when the story began).
