I was thinking about this battle.

Dark Phoenix humiliated the White Queen like no one else did before.

Because this was the first time the White Queen was ever defeated on-panel during what was in effect her first ever battle. And of course Emma was humiliated repeatedly afterwards by other people, starting with Mastermind during the run-up to UXM #175.

Since then, they should have been deadly enemies.

Should they? For Emma this defeat may have been a big deal, for Phoenix it was no big deal and the White Queen a comparatively minor threat. For her the worst was yet to come during the Dark Phoenix Saga, and here Mastermind, not Emma, did the crucial damage. Phoenix of course died five issues after her battle against the White Queen, and after the "real Jean" emerged from her cocoon a further 4 1/2 years later she was revealed to be a completely different person from the Phoenix and did not have the powers the Phoenix used to defeat and humiliate Emma Frost. For Emma there would have been no logical reason to start a vendetta against Jean (how many interactions did they even have with each other before the death of the Hellions?). As for Jean, she couldn't remember anything about the matter at least until Inferno (when she got access to some of the Phoenix's memories via Madelyne), and even if she had remembered her reaction would not have been "the Phoenix failed to kill the White Queen, I must correct that".
