Two jumps for me:
1) bone claws (x-men 25/wolv 75)
2) Origin/James Howlett (I feel like a tool just typing that name!)
Id say, when marvel started putting him in EVERYTHING

X-Men Vol 2 #4-7 (1992) : IMO, Chris Claremont is the only writer who knew how to write Wolverine. Since then, Wolverine hasn't been interesting.

Great creators but their best works are, respectively, on Excalibur, She-Hulk and Hulk. They added nothing to Wolverine as a character.

Byrne's best works were Fantastic Four and Alpha Flight :)

I admit that I never read Jason Aaron's Wolverine. So, you might be totally right about him.
