... I think that, as founding members of the Brotherhood, Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver were created as mutant characters and, so, that's who they are.

I'll go this far: if Marvel doesn't keep the current status quo, then go all the way back to the start. Their origin story in the very beginning becomes their origin story again. Really what I want to say is, their origin story at the Avengers 16 stage becomes the new one going forward. But the Brotherhood days and the Avengers 16 days were close enough that the origin won't have changed any way.

All the later retcons about them are totally worthless, including Magneto being their father.

I never cared about the Magneto thing. In fact I found it weird. The remainder has been even weirder. Genetic manipulation by the High Evolutionary is perfectly fine with me and in fact I like it better because really, we have enough mutants.

So, here is my solution :
    The twins were born mutants.
The High Evolutionary kidnapped them to create Luminous.
    That's all.
He lied about them like he lied so many times before.
They are not the kids of Magneto.
    Period.

I could live with that.

    Quote:
The twins' powers come from an extradimensional energy which allows to bend the laws of physics.
In the Marvel Universe, masters of mystic arts harness extradimensional energy for their tricks.
That's why Wanda is also considered a witch.

My eyes are glazing over. Wanda is a natural magic user who is able to improve through training. I just don't need to know any more.

The High Evolutionary doesn't need any fancy reason for experimenting on people. It's what he does. He's a mad scientist.

Oh, and as for Immortus and Chthon and whoever else is wrapped up in the twisted labyrinth of the story so far - my wish would be to never hear about them again in relation to Pietro or Wanda.
