Talk about useless solicits. Better yet, don't. Instead talk about (FYI) Emma Frost teaming up with Jessica Jones and it being a fun read! But don't talk about the stupid Black King angle the X-Bullpen is perpetuating either. Is the feminist #metoo movement so obsessive they have to have the name "King" too? C'mon, a "Queen" can be rightful ruler too. Whatever.

Stupid feminist, yeah, but don't conflate it with the #metoo stuff. It's not the same.

But seriously, historically, except in very rare occasions, the position of King is above that of Queen. They will often attach a qualifier ("regnant") for a Queen that holds ruling power because they are not expected to hold that power by default.

And um... the Hellfire Club ranks are about chess. In chess, the Queen is the most powerful.

The art was good and the enjoyable characterization of Emma felt spot-on. It had CBMB-results with her vs the iconic mind control powers of jerkwad Purple Man. Besides JJ beating Emma in a fight was far more interesting than (but just as exciting as) when she fought Purple Girl and later Luke. It was also such a wipe-your-brow relief that Emma didn't give JJ a corny Magneto Helmet.

Eh. TBH, I'm having a lot of trouble seeing Emma help a flatscan. Often, in the past, her reaction has been, "What have you done for me/mutants lately?" And this was before her return to villainy when she was playing nice as Scott's girlfriend.

It should have been any mutant telepath than her, imo.

JJ's duress, her consulting DD, her tech strategy, her FUN dialogue with Emma, her narration while fighting everybody to get to the big bad source of the problem and, then, topping it with her failure with her avoid-at-all-cost plans against being possessed - yet again. And they add an interesting twist with the revealed source of these powers and how it's affecting Dani Cage, Kara, Purple Kids, not to mention anyone and everyone in NY.

Eh. And now I'm close to not caring anymore.

But it's been a good story so far.

City of Heroes is BACK!
