I'm already feeling like this is the best X-Men story this century. But that's me. I get enthusiastic.

So apparently Cyclops, Havok, Magik, Wolfsbane, Mirage, Karma, Multiple Man and Chamber are already a team. I didn't know - but I like it. It's a nice cross-section of prior teams.

See current issues of Uncanny X-Men. However...

I guess Havok is good again. Cool. I like the sibling rivalry with Scott. Marvel should keep these two together. Marvel should also keep Magik, Wolfsbane, and Mirage together.

At the end of the latest issue, Moonstar doubles over at the psychic shock of Wolfsbane's supposed death (off panel). Wolfsbane had quit the team because she was sick of being a superhero. Also, this happened just after Cyclops lost an eye (I don't think there was any time to fit anything else), so... Either this cliffhanger is wrong or continuity is wacky.

I'm not a fan of Wolfsbane, but I hope the character doesn't die. Considering her story, she needs to be part of this event, imo. She and Dani were the most affected by Asgardian things.

Who's the Egg Man? Whoever he is, I like him. Marvel should over-expose him like they do with the Rhino and the Wrecking Crew. Meanwhile, Orphan-Maker reminds me visually of the High Evolutionary.

Egg WOMAN is Nanny. Her MO has typically been to kidnap mutant children (killing their parents often, hence her main henchman, Orphan-Maker--very literal) in order to protect them.

Cyclops can't use his power. That's lame. But what's really lame is that he doesn't carry a ray gun. I mean, that's really all his power is. His eyes are ray guns. The cool thing about Cyclops is that he'll never run out of juice. Also he's the best there is at what he does.

In Uncanny X-Men #15, Hope Summers shot out his right eye, thus the bandages. I don't understand why this would mean no blasts out of the left eye. It's stupid. In Uncanny, we know his left eye is functional. Dark Beast comments on performing surgery and trying to avoid the blasts.

No ray guns... ever... please. Don't like superheroes with guns. Any guns.

Mirage hears the call! I don't know what anyone else thinks, but as for me, the most interesting thing about Dani is her connection to Asgard, Odin, and the Valkyries. Frankly, Dani - not Jane Foster - should be the star of that new comic that's coming out. You know the one.

Don't know about most interesting, but yeah, it's awesome. I still want Jane Foster dead, so anyone is a better Valkyrie for me.

Oh, and in case you were wondering - Dark Elves are the new Ninjas!

I'm an old D&D guy. Dark Elves were ninja for a long, long time. \:\-P

Hey look - Scott has a sword. Better than nothing.

I think a bow and arrows would be better, given his abilities.

    Scott: "Havok, do something dumb."

    Alex: "On it!"

Wow, that's a seriously big blue giant - SHLORP! Oh man. Today really is a good day. Banshee's back! He and Chamber are holding up the Generation X flag nicely in this book.

For Banshee, also see current issues of Uncanny X-Men. He's not really himself though -- he's like a zombie... literally.

Hope is here too! All right, I gotta say, this book is an embarrassment of riches for me. It was already packed with goodness and then Marvel added Banshee and Hope.

Also see Uncanny X-Men.

Incidentally, Hope has a ray gun. Scott, take note.

He has. See above.

Hope absorbs energy? I didn't know! Does she supply the juice for her ray gun?

She's like a universal sponge. As an infant, she absorbed everything Rogue ever absorbed, making her a blank slate. She absorbs the mutant powers around her. Pretty sure she's absorbed energy in general once or twice.

Meanwhile, Scott doesn't adhere to the "No X-Man left behind" theory of battlefield ethics. Karma thinks he should. I do too. Lame, Scott.

My one regret is that this story will only be three issues long.

I'm ambivalent. Three issues is enough. Events shouldn't be more than much more this (per title), imo.
