The cotati have the same plant portal technology that the X-Men have in Krakoa who may actually be cotati and that the x-gene may perhaps be cotati DNA which would perhaps be a major change to how mutantkind sees themselves and may have to admit that any mutation that gives powers, like cosmic and gamma rays or a radioactive spider, is evolution and that the X-Men will either choose humility or deny it and be arrogant based on a belief that they were born better then everyone. Magneto and his followers will probably not handle this well, like with Ultimate Magneto when he found out that mutants were created because of a genetic experiment. Magneto will probably get violent, rile up his followers and call it a human lie, since it pretty much goes against the belief of mutant supremacy and destiny, since they probably wouldn't have existed if it wasn't for kree monks planting cotati on earth, that they're no different then the rest of the superhuman population. No divine glory of creation but being at the right place at the right time as if mutantkind was Spider-Man. Also, what if the cerebro technology actually detects humans with cotati DNA? What would happen if Xavier scanned the cotati?

I'm not particularly fond of the idea that the X-Gene comes from Cotati. It makes human mutants less unique. On the other hand, real world scientists say about 1% of our genes (2500 out of 25k) come from plants. One lousy gene out of 25k being Cotati doesn't mean bupkis.
