Well, Marvel does have to be careful still with the spaceknights as they no longer have the ROM trademark. Of course given that IDW's success with ROM is......debatable, perhaps Marvel SHOULD spend the cash to get him back.
Surely that trademark can't be THAT expensive, and some fans might welcome the triumphant return of ROM.

Surely. His return to the 6161 would be better than Conan is getting!

Personally, I am less interested in the possibility of Marvel getting ROM back than I am in the chance of restoring the Dire Wraiths to the Marvel Universe. They were a part of the Skrull race, just like the "normal" shape-shifting Skrull Deviants, the Skrull Eternals and the Skrullian Normals/Latents, but Marvel can't use them (except to mention them in handbooks) because they withdrew their challenge to Hasbro registering a trademark for the Dire Wraiths back in 2017.

As for the Galadorians, I was really unhappy that the events depicted in the Spaceknights miniseries were considered to be canon and regarded the destruction of Galador during the Builders storyline to be a mercy killing because it prevented future writers from further distorting that race. However, with this recent storyline, it now seems that I spoke (or thought) too soon.

Well the Spaceknights mini series was fun and a nice nostalgic look back at ROM while at the same time moving forward.

They cannot use ROM, at least in his classic armored form and his human form is owned by Marvel also, however they instead just have him listed now as missing in action. Thus he's out of the way but not necessarily dead in case they can bring him back one day

Also the 3rd generation knights in that series had it better in that they were linked to their armor and could summon it to them at will, but they were not grafted into it and thus could avoid the risks of slowly going mad/corrupted (Gen 2 knights) or their stored remains being destroyed like the Gen 1's were.

Hasbro registering the trademark was a prelude to IDW's ROM series. I suspect though that if Marvel wanted they could bring their Dire Wraiths back and just call them Wraiths.
