    Quote:
People who write about these things like to say that Havok and Madelyne had a relationship sometime in the past. I havent read every X-Men story ever and I dropped out from the late 80's to the late 90's, so I want to confirm if this is the case.

I know that they did in Mutant X, but that is an alternate reality and a different Madeline.

Did Havok actually also have some kind of relationship with 616 Madeline?

Yes. This started in Uncanny X-Men in 1987, a few issues before the Fall of the Mutants crossover event began. Havok was at loose ends, romantically, because Polaris had been possessed by Malice (the Marauder) and left him, and he rejoined the X-Men. The X-Men then rescued Madelyne Pryor-Summers from the Marauders in San Francisco, and until Fall of the Mutants were based in San Fran (on Alcatraz, to be precise). During that time, Madelyne and Alex, who both felt abandoned by their partners, bonded and became lovers. At the end of Fall of the Mutants, the X-Men plus Madelyne moved to Australia (the "Outback Era" began). In the end, Madelyne was seduced to the dark side by N'Astirh (with a little help from Gateway) and became the Goblin Queen (or Goblyn Queen, as some prefer to spell the name). She turned Alex into the Goblin Prince in a bid to take over the world (the Inferno crossover), but in the end she died and Havok was saved.
