I got this issue, and one or two before it around when they came out, where Illyana died (from a mutant disease, I think), leading Colossus to join with Magneto. How exactly did she came back? And wasn't she a little kid when she died? I didn't really stay up on all X-Men news after that until, with the last 5-10 years, I learned Illyana was alive again, and older. Marvel.fandom.com explained it, but a lot of the characters mentioned I don't know about, so it was somewhat hard to follow along with.

Thanks.

The REAL Illyana died in Uncanny X-Men #300. She is STILL dead.

After that, Belasco created a fake Illyana, because he lovesneeds his little Darkchilde, and that is who we have now. This was seen in New X-Men vol 2 #38-41. This fake Illyana had all of the memories of the original teenager, but not the soul. Even the screwy Belasco realized that without a soul, she was useless to him (can't summon his Elder Gods! WAH!). So, he threw her away (banished her).

She eventually got her soul back in New Mutants vol 3.
